What companies usually ask first
Do we really pay nothing?
If you are levy-registered and have enough balance, yes. The course fee is claimed against your own HRD Corp levy, so there is no new cash cost. Anything outside the grant — hotel venue hire for a big team day, for example — we show separately in the quote before you commit.
How early do we need to apply?
The application must go in before the course starts. We ask for two to three weeks so the approval has time to come through. If a course is next week, still ask — sometimes it can be done.
Can you come to our office or site?
Yes. For eight people or more it is usually cheaper too, because it is one group rate instead of a fee per person. We adapt the content to your industry and your own processes. We train on construction sites and factory floors, not only in meeting rooms.
We have fewer than 10 staff. Can we still join?
If you have 5 to 9 Malaysian staff you can register with HRD Corp voluntarily at 0.5%. Below that, you are welcome on any public course — you would just pay the fee directly instead of claiming it.
Can you train in Bahasa Malaysia?
Yes. Most courses run in Bahasa Malaysia, English, or a mix, and we match the language to the group. For site and shop-floor sessions, Bahasa Malaysia is usually what works best.
What happens to levy we never use?
It stays in your HRD Corp account rather than coming back to you, and long-unused balances fall under HRD Corp's rules on dormant funds. The simple version: money paid in and never claimed has bought your company nothing. Check your balance on the portal — most people are surprised.
